Obstructive cables are now a thing of the past
During the Experience Days held in Stuttgart this summer, Festool turned out a spectacular new compound mitre saw. With the SYMC 70, you can saw skirting boards twice as fast as with a tailored cross-cut saw, precisely, and without calculation. This battery-powered compound mitre saw will be available from October and in this article we explain what it can mean for you.

Obviously, the biggest benefit is that you no longer have the obstruction of leads, which disrupt the flow of the work. With this new tool you can easily incorporate internal and exterior corners with the help of the bevel and convert them into a symmetrical stop system. And so, you saw both skirting boards with one setting with the angle division perfectly tailored. The rollers take the battery-powered compound mitre saw to the right position in no time at all, and that, in combination with the double battery system, ensures maximum mobility.

Extremely simple and precise sawing
Festool is aiming to make sawing with an angle division included as simple and precise as possible. During demonstrations, it was clear that the new battery-powered SYMC 70 compound mitre saw means that this is no idle claim. Thanks to a supplied bevel for the acquisition of internal and external angles, you can take over and transform angles easily. With the SYMC 70, due to the symmetrical stop system, you also saw clearly exact angle sections.

‘Fitting skirting boards can be sawn to measure in no time at all,’ Adriano Pulvirenti explains at the headquarters of Festool Belgium in Groot-Bijgaarden. ‘For daily work, the fixed wheels make it easier to align the saw quickly and easily. Thanks to the wheels, the saw adapts quickly and easily to the user and the skirting boards so that it is also possible to work efficiently in small spaces.’

In everyday use the SYMC 70 proves itself to be a powerful and yet durable partner. The machine achieves this through the combination of a brushless EC-TEC motor with a double battery system (2x 18V). There are also scores of ingenious details such as a user-friendly switch design and a LED shadow light for the display of the saw cut, which guarantees an ideal work flow. A separate dust bag absorbs dust as soon as it is created for dustless works, even without a mobile vacuum cleaner.

Left and right-handed operation
The SYMC 70 can be operated both left and right-handed. The switch and handle are positioned centrally so the tool can be operated comfortably with the right or left hand.
Mr Pulvirenti continues: ‘Typical for Festool are perfect sawing results. The high-quality saw blades are geared precisely to the saw and the material and the SYMC 70 has synchronous pivotable strokes for exact saw cuts in corners. External angles up to 60 and internal angles up to 68 degrees can be achieved easily with just one setting. The combination of double battery system (2 x 18V) and brushless EC-TEC motor gives the SYMC 70 maximum endurance and power.’

Double battery capacity
As we have already said, the SYMC 70 has no troublesome leads. This is thanks to the double battery capacity whereby it guarantees full freedom of movement on location. Moreover, there is also a simple unlocking of the switch blocking with one hand, with the second hand safely on the work piece. To that end the protective cap opens automatically whenever the head is lowered. The wheels bring the work bench of the SYMC 70 precisely to the height of a Systainer SYS 3 M 137. And so, this can be used as a work bench, and long work pieces can be supported securely. Finally, there is also a variable preset of the rotational speed in order to work in harmony with the material.
